Where can I find hope?

This card depicts a hand, (the left), open, palm upturned, with the markings of a cut tree trunk tracked into it. The artist’s interpretation of the lines in a palm, perhaps? A reworking of one’s lifelines?

Don’t accept what has been foreword. Put your own will and action into it.

In the right hand, which we cannot see, there is a knife – nothing threatening, just a simple kitchen knife – which is being used to pierce the centre of the palm to release blood. Or maybe, instead, this is a branch, like the birth of a shoot?

The card calls for bravery, transparency, vulnerability, trust, and a sacrifice, a gift that is uniquely personal to oneself.

You need to show up and look at what is, honestly without self deception. You need to have faith, both in yourself and in the Universe.

You need to alter the perfection of what is, for there needs to be a wound in order for there to be a healing, something lost or exchanged for something gained.

~

EXERCISE:

Open your palm.

Stare into the lines and forget the narrative.

Pierce it and start anew.

Release what has been and what has been foretold.

Relinquish what was dreamed, desired, charted and navigated.

Let go of everything that was.

Take that page and tear it up.

Cast the whole book aside.

Make a new one.

Create new lines and release their energy.

TAKE THIS METAPHOR AND APPLY IT TO YOUR LIFE

~

HOW?

What is stuck?

What no longer works?

Where are you unhappy?

Release it.

Cut the threads that bind you to it.

Trace a new story.

~

1. Maybe that means writing a short journal entry about how your life will play out?

2. Maybe that means crafting a poem that serves as a banishing spell. And then another that brings something into being? Make them high vibrational and kind. Do not align yourself with anything that is not in accordance with Source.

3. Maybe that means baking a special cake, that contains within it all of your dreams, wishes, hopes and desires?

4. Maybe that means terminating some relationships – work, social, family?

5. Maybe that means going off-grid and trying to live differently?

Have a think about it and work out what works for you. Your sacrifice could simply be giving away some clothes, supporting a local homeless shelter, rescuing an animal, helping out locally, etc.

~

The Ace of Knives is the Ace of Swords in another form. Swords represent intellect, logic and reason. They are associated with the air element, winter and the act of learning. The Ace is the purest version of this. It’s the beginning, the spark, the seed, the stomach rumble that comes as an early indicator before the full sensation of hunger.

The Ace of Swords does not mince her words. She is direct, delivering the reality of the situation to you. She is love, but she is also tough. She is the best friend who tells you your boyfriend is cheating or your bum has gotten fat. She knows what you know, only she is more able and willing to voice it. She will help you in your quest for hope, but only if you are prepared to follow her advice. Lean in. Listen carefully. And don’t kill the messenger.

Dark Days.

There are many who are confused right now, not sure what to think or feel. There are others who are living in fear of everything that is pumped out. And more, still, who were living in hope, who were waking and rising and ascending, who have recently suffered a set back and are now experiencing a dark night of sorts. These people have touched me in multiple ways and changed the course of my journey: for as we all know, our threads are connected; what one of us does, thinks, hears, feels, applies to us all.

This message is for you, as well as for those who are already fully comfortable, confident and actualised. It’s been an intense 14 months and already a crazy year.

So my question today is: What lies ahead?… because I feel that is what we most would like to know.

We have all lost the rug that was situated beneath us (whether that be 5, 10, 20, 50… years ago, or several months, weeks or days…) and discovered that what we thought we knew, what we learned and what we were told and taught, is simply part of a narrative. The truth, if we seek to find it, if we can stomach such a rude awakening in our bodies and in our lives, is far more complex and nefarious. For those of you who know: you know. And for those who don’t: perhaps that’s just fine; perhaps it’s where you should be right now and even for the rest of your journey. Opening the lid on Pandora’s box is not a thing to do lightly, nor a thing that work or serves for all.

Deck used is Dark Days tarot written by Emily Mundy and illustrated and designed by Wren McMurdo. It felt like an apt deck.

The Page of Swords

In the centre of this black card there is a white rose with four leaves that curve and sweep outwards to wrap themselves over and around the two circles of delicate outlined flowers that are crowding its girth. This is as a garden beginning to grow, a gathering around a leader, those who are new and freshly arisen, who have only just broken through the earth’s crusted surface reaching up towards the light and in towards that which appears strongest and most confident. They seek a parent, perhaps, or else a leader, and this large white rose is the first thing they see. Like a child, they imprint upon it and then wait to see what they are shown, taught and told. Is this the Christed Light? Or a being from the future? Or else an Angel come to earth to save them or some other high vibrational being? Or is it simply the largest, strongest flower, that will in time rise and swell to overshadow them and block the light? You decide.

Around this circle there is an outer circle of heads, each resembling a phase of the moon, therefore representing the lunar cycle. Their heads are bare. Their eyes are closed. They are entranced. Only their tongues are active and they are barbed. They whisper lies to each other and also everyone else who can hear, and the poor newbie flowers, because they are contained within this greater circumference, are subject to it all. Day after day. Hour after hour…. Birds hover and fly all around, stirring up trouble, but also issuing a warning. And at the bottom, hidden within the name, there is an envelope with a dagger crossing it. Guard your truth? Be careful of what you say? Be awake, for words can harm you? Or else dip into and protect their power?

What’s you choose to read here is what is meant for you. I am guided to leave it there. To attempt to elaborate would be to meddle in your life and to endeavor to force a narrative upon your future.

Keywords from accompanying booklet: vigilance in minding what you say.

SIT AWHILE.

THINK ON IT.

CONNECT THROUGH YOUR GUT AND HEART.

DRAW UPON EACH OF YOUR CHAKRAS.

THEN MOVE ON TO READ THE SECOND CARD.

The Chariot

The woman in this card is alone. She is riding a bike. Her bike contains many tiny slices of new moon, or perhaps the moon waxing and waning? She has several tattoos – a bicycle, birds and three moons; take charge of your own destiny, trust your own navigation, look to the skies. These are dark, the opposite of those on the tyres, suggesting they are super important messages. Her feet are bare (freedom, authenticity) and she is wearing only a flimsy dress (self expression, choice). Also, is it spring or summer? Behind her there are many birds, and also several slices of moon and fluffy clouds. Noise!! Chatter!!! The sun, or moon, to her left is part covered in dark, menacing clouds. Are they trying to cover its beauty, conceal its power, obliterate its message. She is either travelling through something or fleeing something and yet there is no fear, only focus and determination.

The Chariot represents the need for choice, presenting the options to us. Traditionally, there are two sphinxes – one white, one black – and I usually read it as: time to pick a side. Yet here it feels like the side is already picked and the action is already taken, so it’s simply a matter of holding your ground, staying balanced and in your centre and continuing to move forwards.

Keywords from accompanying booklet: proper use of control; willpower; momentum.

TAKE THE ADVICE FROM THE FIRST CARD AND APPLY IT HERE.

PICK YOUR SIDE; THEN MIND YOUR WORDS, FOR WORDS HAVE WEIGHT AND POWER.

Navigate these waters and there will be calmer times ahead. 🛶

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture – a weekly three-card card reading designed to help you future-proof your week, providing guidance and insights to empower you to make better choices and decisions.

This reading is for the week ahead, beginning September 21st, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME: trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides the way. There is a bigger energy present in all of our lives: patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes brutal way), waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look, the more you learn to see. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear. Follow me on this journey and, together, we will navigate the winding path that is the tarot.

As we move into the fourth week of September, the focus is on how we see ourselves and how that person dictates the decisions we make and what we do with our life. For how we respond to him or her affects everything, especially when it comes to creating wealth. Prepare for a journey of some kind and work out what painful truths you want to carry with you. Perhaps it is time to let them go.

This week’s reading comes from the Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot deck, published by U.S. Games Systems, INC., with artwork based on drawings by Pamela Coleman Smith. Check out their website if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The World
  • The King of Pentacles
  • The Six of Swords

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The World. I see this card as a mirror and an invitation to stand before it and really look at who we are without the packaging we carefully wrap around us. When we strip off everything – fake, superficial, applied – and gaze upon ourselves without clothing, washing or makeup; without costume: what do we see, who are we, are we comfortable with that person or is he or she carrying a lot of unnecessary worry, guilt, regret, fear and pain? Can we then look into that same mirror and call upon our best self, our higher self, or our quantum or future self, and commune with him or her? What would they say given the chance? Imagine the advice would they give; what you can learn from them and then apply? This card is a gentle wake-up call, an invitation to really show up with all of our truths laid bare. Take ownership of your shadow. Embrace both your darkness as well as your light.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The King of Pentacles. Now it’s time to get to work, looking out over the kingdom of your life and evaluating its worth. Where are you wealthy? What are your riches? And how could you grow and nurture more? Get creative, active and busy, grounding all of the introspection you did in the earlier part of the week. Apply the lessons you learned and till them into the soil.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Six of Swords, which has a sad and nostalgic energy. Thanks to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, though, we are prepared for this because it’s not necessarily a ‘this’ that we want to inhabit, accommodate, admit-to or endure. But endure we must, for, as with everything in life, we cannot take only the good and dismiss the bad. A journey is approaching – or perhaps you are already on it – and likely it is not, or will not, be one of your choosing or making. Perhaps it’s something you just have to commit to because… This journey will likely contain painful truths or necessitate the packing-up and transporting of the uncomfortable truths we already have and have carried with us thus far in order to relocate them. But you have a choice and this is important. What you choose to carry with you; who you choose to travel with, and how you see that journey are things you can affect. If the news is difficult; if the narrative isn’t one you’d welcome or invite: you can still repaint it. Not every disaster is a death sentence. Not every hiccup, setback or slight is as much of a misfortune as we might think. Reframe the journey that has been imposed upon you or embolden yourself to choose your own course, even if it ruffles a few feathers and rocks a fair few boats. Navigate these waters and there will be calmer times ahead.

Take a load off. You deserve a rest. 🪁

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture, a weekly three-card reading to help you to future-proof your week.

Hello lovelies, this is your reading for the week ahead, beginning September 14th, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME, trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides you. There is a bigger energy present in all our lives – patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes brutal way) – waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look, the more you learn to see. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear.

As we move into the third week of September, the focus is on looking at and reassessing our boundaries around what and how much we take on, paying close attention to what we are carrying and what new tasks and chores we agree to add. Instead of all work and nothing else, incorporate play into your life and spend the latter half of the week enjoying and even sharing that activity worth others. That way, when it comes to the weekend, you will be revved up and recharged, ready to take on the world again as you see fit.

This reading’s cards come from the Dreaming Way Tarot; deck by Rome Choi, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. with artwork by Kwon Shina. Check out their website – if you can find it (I can’t) – if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Ten of Wands
  • The Queen of Cups
  • The Page of Wands

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The Ten of Wands. In it we see a man – worn thin, exhausted, bent double – picking up sticks. Yet as he stoops to pick the next one up, note how he’s also dropping several more from the pile he’s collected previously, sabotaging what he already has in attempting to manage and juggle more. This card is is telling you to stop being everyone and eveyrthing’s “yes” (wo) man and instead start becoming your own personal advocate, for if you don’t look after yourself, pretty soon you won’t be much use to anyone else either and nobody wins. Try putting down a few wands. Experiment with how it feels to have a “later” list and even to say “no”. Saying “no” can be super scary and even rock a few boats, but it gets easier and people do adapt. And soon you’ll be feeling so much better anyway, what other people say and think won’t matter so much. Start by listing the things you are carrying and sorting them in order of importance. You aren’t super human. You can’t be all things to all people. So work out who and what you want to serve and put that and them first. Later – if you have space, energy and time – you can add to this with things further down your list.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Queen of Cups, a super lovely and really positive card. Here, we see a woman and her child sharing a wooden throne, looking out across the landscape together. This card makes me think of a mother and daughter curled up on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn watching their favourite movie. It feels special because usually the mother, who is after all a queen, is working and the child is left alone to entertain herself with her own devices and here they are united in a treat, both indulging in time off. Take YOUR weekend early this week and put your feet up. You DESERVE a rest. Better yet, check in with your inner child and ask them what they would really like to do. Maybe they want to bake something or draw a picture? Maybe they want to go out foraging? Maybe they want to visit something of cultural interest or go somewhere entirely new? Whatever your inner child wants – and your real children too if you are a fur or skin child mother – indulge them for a few days in order to recoup, fortify, refurnish and restore. You will thank yourself for this later.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Page of Wands, which basically means time to go back to work. After having treated your week like a weekend: the message now is treat your weekend like your week, taking advantage of all of the power and energy that slowing down and resting and playing has cooked up. There is encouragement here too, because in order to leap into this new space of creating you will need to get wet. That means take off your socks and shoes and risk damaging your pedicure because the real treasure is in that dark inner place where the things you resist hide. The universe is calling upon you to birth a new project, or to release the one you have been nurturing and cultivating for some time. But in order to do so you need to also get up close and personal to some of the things you have been carrying around in order to release them. To have a healthy birth, for that baby to be healthy, there first needs to be a purging – much like in an actual birth where the body rids itself of all that it has been carrying in advance of delivering the infant. First purge, then labour and deliver. Do it this way and you will be more likely to achieve the success of which you dream.

Is it in my highest good to walk away from this relationship ‘right now’, or am I supposed to stay where I am for the time being? 🧵

Relationship reading for romantic, familial and platonic relationships to see if the person in question is worth all of the effort and/or even supposed to still be in your life.

Relationships can be tricky things, especially if we really care for the person we are with, and even more so if we have been together for a long time. But regardless of the duration of your relationship: knowing whether you are in the right place and just journeying through something on a cosmic level that needs to be aired and shared and is supposed to be happening to and for the both of you in order for a trauma (yours or ancestral) to be healed, or whether you are stuck stubbornly treading water because the path you were on together has reached its end and you just aren’t ready to see and accept that as the case yet, is pretty important and vital. Getting it wrong can lead to unnecessary pain and cost time in years. We come together for a reason, always, no matter who we are with and who we meet. Even the disasters are supposed to be. What isn’t supposed to be, however, is a prolonged bad anything. It is not ok to be in a relationship where there is a lack of respect. It is not ok for there to be a dismissal of personal boundaries. It is not ok for there to be shouting and anger and unkind words if those actions aren’t swiftly followed by a retraction, surrender and apology. There are good relationships and there are bad relationships and there are extenuating circumstances. But even here there are lines and there is a limit to what we should be ok with.

Are you putting up with more than you should be and accepting less than you deserve?

Are you in a stalemate and waiting for someone who doesn’t want to, or has been left behind, to catch up and change?

Are you accepting second, or even third or fourth, best behaviour when you need and in your heart you know you should be experiencing so much more?

This reading is intended to be a guide to help you to sort through the questions that you are juggling so that you can come away feeling more decided and clear. It is not a black and white answer. It is not a “yes” or “no”. It is a conversation you can have with yourself while or after you are listening to me to hold up the mirror of truth to what is. What you do next is up to you.

This reading’s cards come from the Dreaming Way Tarot; deck by Rome Choi, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. with artwork by Kwon Shina. Check out their website if you can find it (I can’t) if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Wheel of Fortune
  • The Six of Pentacles
  • The Seven of Swords
  • The Nine of Pentacles

Watch the video below to find out what it’s message is. Then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Below is a brief summary of the cards pulled in case you don’t have time to watch the video. But you will get much more from it if you do.

The Wheel of Fortune sits in the position of the past and shows a women spinning at a wheel with a spindle, trying but failing to spin a perfect spool of yarn. She’s on her knees, up close and personal to her equipment, putting her heart and soul into it. And her intentions are pure. Yet we can see she’s failing miserably, unable to produce a satisfactory, or even a useable, result. Instead, what she is producing appears to be a tangled mess. This card indicates that in the past you have tried, over and over, to create and to live within a healthy right relationship with both yourself and your partner(s) but there have been blocks that have always stood in your way and no matter how often you showed up or how hard you tried, something was always there thwarting your efforts and tearing your achievements and progress down. Perhaps this was just your fate and there is/was nothing you can or could have done about it? Perhaps it’s because it takes two to create a beautiful relationship and you have/are mostly sat working the wheel alone? Or perhaps it’s simply because you are forever choosing the wrong thread? Sit with this and reassess the situation and let that guide you how to best continue.

The Six of Pentacles sits in the position of the present and shows us a woman begging at the feet of a man. She is wearing white, as well as wearing a turban, which shows us she is on a spiritual path and that her intentions, at least here, are pure. Next to her there is a beggar, humbled and desperate, happy to accept any scraps that are given regardless of their quantity or quality. But the man they are prostrating themselves to, who looks at least materially wealthy, as in rich in objects and earthly things, is on a different path and has distractions which do not concern them. They are there as dependants, things that need taking care of once in a while, things that can be subdued and placated with a little every so often, like a pet, but not there as a focus of energy or attention in his life. Neither the woman nor the beggar are a priority, or even of much concern or importance at all. Which leaves the woman having to pay for the attention and time she gets in acts of service and kindness and the beggar involuntarily wearing a crown of humility and gratitude for something that is essentially useless. One has become a prostitute in an attempt to get their needs met, the other an acolyte. And all the while the former is still hoping to receive time and tenderness and the latter something useful like a job. This card is calling into question the matter of balance in your life and how even and fair things are. If there is inequality in your relationship; if one person is giving too much and the other showing up only to take: things need talking about and changing immediately if there is to be a harmonious future ahead.

The Seven of Swords – which pairs with this card in the present – highlights more energetic imbalances. Here we see a man running away from us, legging it home in order to stash his horde of swords. He is a thief, running off with what isn’t his because instead of earning it fairly or being given it freely as something that wanted to be given, he has snuck in and taken it regardless, to have and to keep all for himself. There is no unity here, no comradeship, no ‘you’ and ‘me’. It is all ‘mine’, ‘mine’, ‘mine’; absolutely no sharing. This man is scared that he will not have enough or not be prepared for whatever it is he believes is coming and for that reason he is not working together with you; he is just building his own home according to his design. This could be a mental home or a career home, but it’s not a love one. For a love reading: note how there are no love or romance cards. We are lacking the suit of Cups. And we are lacking the energy of union and comradeship too. It’s each to their own and one man against the world, so where does that leave you? Maybe you are included in this ‘my house’, ‘my world’ mentality. And if so: is it where you really want to be? Is it the energy you want to fill a home with? And if not: where does that leave you and what is happening to your house?

The Nine of Pentacles sits in the space of the future and shows us a woman celebrating financial success after having planted a crop of seeds which have grown to yield a healthy crop. This card is telling us that we have to separate our energies and focus more on ourselves. Which means we also have to stop pouring all of our time and energy into others. The overriding message here is, “first fix yourself”, applying your own oxygen mask before turning to the problems and dramas of those around you, for they will always be there and you can never keep up because the world is forever turning. If you can do this while in your current relationship and choose to do so: then by all means try. The universe is behind you here because it’s in the cards for you to succeed in what you turn your hand to. But if you find that you are too distracted or your time is not your own, or you are not emotionally able to focus on or begin anything from the space you are in now: then the message is to cut the thread, disentangle your energy and your life and begin again alone. You are strong and whatever you apply yourself to, so long as you are not distracted by things that are outside of and, ultimately, beyond your grasp, will grow. Decide how you want to grow and what you want to be growing and then figure out the type of soil you need to be tilling and nurturing.

Hit me where it hurts 💔

Sunday Scripture: to help you to future-proof your week.

This is your reading for the week beginning September 7th, 2020 – but as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at another time then trust that it is meant to be and applicable to your life now.

As we move into the second week of September, the focus is on weathering emotional injury (injury that is incurred as a result of the actions and words of others), turning our attention to new projects and rising above and riding the storm. In the first half of the week, we find ourselves challenged on multiple levels by those around us and their words and actions hurt. The second half of the week lends some catharsis to this in the form of purpose and work, providing us an outlet and a channel for our hurt. And the weekend opens up a space for introspection and self-evaluation, a time to be thankful for how far we have come but also to acknowledge the price we have had to pay and the storms we have and still are having to weather.

  • The Three of Swords
  • The Three of Pentacles
  • The King of Cups

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The Three of Swords. This card is often a difficult card, especially while we are travelling through it, but it is also a valuable resource and an opportunity to go inside. Find stillness and really take time to learn from your experiences. What are the messages that you are receiving from these altercations and slights? Get out your journal and make notes, you will look back and thank yourself for the gems you left. The Three of Swords tells us that the start of the week could contain some emotional conflict. This might be an argument with a friend, a disagreement at work, a lover betraying you, or a stranger flinging insults for no apparent reason. Or it might mean loss; loss of someone you really care about. All of these things hurt and the wounds they inflict last. Be gentle with yourself and find time to tend to this. BUT… this is also an ideal time to let the tears flow and really open up and empty out what is trapped inside your heart. What other long-held grievances are you keeping in there? What trials and traumas rest hidden so that only you can see them? Embrace the gift of the suffering this week and use it as a vehicle to release a life’s worth of carrying. Cry and be proud of yourself for the gift of this purging.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Three of Pentacles, a much lighter and brighter card than it’s sister above. This card is all about starting new projects, being creative and building things, and working with others to combine skills. And it’s about working on something of worth and birthing a project that is sacred, whether it’s sacred with a big ‘S’ and applicable to the world as a vehicle for transformation and healing, or sacred with a small ‘s’ and meaningful just to you. Perhaps, too, you could use this energy to transform your pain into purpose, betrayal into beauty, trauma into triumph, rejection into radiance, taking the hurts from the start of the week and releasing them here.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The King of Cups. This is a good end to the week as cups are all about love and relationships and kings represent mastery, so the King of Cups reveals our having achieved (or being in the process of achieving) mastery of these things. The king tells us we have a good grasp of our emotions having done a lot of deep inner work over the years, facing up to our demons and successfully releasing as many of them as was possible; maybe even more of them than we think we have. And for those we still carry, we are able to be honest about them now and are in the process of purposefully attempting to put them out. BUT… as we all know, some things – people, places, events – are harder to part ways with than others. However, doing personal work results in growth and growth results in becoming different from what we were before and therefore to those around us. So if you are feeling alone and without a tribe, because your tribe no longer feels like a safe, friendly space or a comfy home to reside within, have no fear. Your new tribe is coming, you are just in a liminal, central holding space where there is still old stuff that needs to be released before your true SOUL TRIBE can come in.

Sunday Scripture: to help you to future-proof your week.

This is your reading for the week beginning September 1st, 2020 – but as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at another time then trust that it is meant to be and applicable to your life now.

As we move into the first week of September, the focus is on the changing season and what it brings to light within. We find ourselves being called upon to sit in silence and stare deep into the mirror of our minds, mining our hearts and souls for all that they wish, want and desire. And we are called upon to compare what we want to what we have, and to pull out the weeds that are taking up too much space. Only then can we pick a path, a true path, and get walking towards our bright, shiny new future. A week of optimism and purpose awaits.

  • The World
  • The Tower
  • The Chariot

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The World. She calls upon us to imagine a better future, one filled with bright, shiny things. What would your life be like if you could have everything you desired? Where would you live, for example, and who would you live with? What would you be doing with your time and during your days? What would you look like? Sit yourself down in front of a mirror and start to imagine that life all around you and fill in all of the mirror’s face with its details. September is calling upon you to get real about what you want and to make getting it a priority. Stop putting it off and putting others first. Now is the time and the season for you to be you.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Tower. In the Rider-Waite deck, this card is never a welcome sign, for she comes with flames and people abandoning a crumbling building in flames, which looks, at the same time, very much like a prison. This card always reminds me of the fairytale about Rapundzel, the kidnapped damsel in the tower, who is daily called upon by a handsome prince to let down her long luscious locks so that he might climb up to see her. In this sense, living in the tower space is akin to being entombed by a wicked witch with people from outside always seeking to come in to steal things you cannot afford to give. In today’s reading The Tower card is calling upon you to spring clean your life, taking a long hard look at all of the components in it and turning out those that are no longer good. For just as The World is asking that you imagine all that you want, The Tower is asking that you balance that energy by owning up to and releasing all that you don’t. For without sacrifice and letting ago, there is no room for new things to enter.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Chariot. She is calling upon you to pick a side, make a decision and walk the path of your true choice. Stop living your life for other people. Stop allowing the push and pull of various other forces to dictate your choices and decisions and choose your direction, your own most favoured one. Get back on path and move towards what you know in your heart to be right. Free from the baggage represented by The Tower, you are more able to make pace, catching up for lost time. Don’t worry if you have spent years in a bad situation or relationship. Right now is the right time for things to be happening, and all that came before was simply necessary learning in order for you to get here and get to where you are supposed to go. Our difficulty informs us and our pain breaks us open to let the light flow in. You are now fully awake and ready to begin the real journey.

Is it safe to trust this person? 💔

Relationship reading for romantic, familial and platonic relationships to see if the person in question is being true to their word and pure in their intentions. A.K.A. Can you rely on them and trust what they say to be true?

So often when we start dating someone or when we meet someone new and start the dating process of becoming friends there is a lot of confusion and mixed messaging that goes on. This poorly communicated information can lead to unnecessary wounding and pain along with a whole lot of uninvited stress and lost time.

The same can be said for committed relationships where things are sometimes said by one party in the heat of the moment, to hell with boundaries, feelings and consequences. And from deception comes disappointment and loss of confidence, security, safety and trust. These are big wounds and not to be taken lightly.

This reading’s cards come from the Animal Tarot Cards deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine, published by Hay House with artwork by Dan Craig. Check out their website if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Page of Swords
  • The Seven of Swords
  • The King of Swords

Watch the video below to find out what it’s message is. Then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

The Page of Swords – this person is on an intellectual pursuit to better themselves. They mean well and really are trying to improve upon who they are and how they view the world. In their actions towards you, they are sincere, but they tend to leave out the pleasantries. If you can take the message they have to give without condemning them as the messenger, then you will be ok and you can do well together. The question is, can you?

The Seven of Swords – this person has a tendency to be a bit of a thief, however, taking without asking and feeling that they are entitled to. Think of them like an energy vampire or, even, a bit of a narcissist. But, as we see in the Seven of Winter, they are also likened to the magpie, a bird who collects trinkets because it is in his nature to think first to his own nest. You are being cautioned here to protect what is yours, to hold strong boundaries, and to only give what you can afford to lose or only what you know you will receive in equal in return. This is a warning. All is not necessarily as it seems. Do not be swayed by shiny objects. Do not take things at face value. Think about what you really want and need. And feel beneath it to what is really going on.

The King of Swords – is who this person can become if they really set their mind and heart to it and if life then goes their way. It is also who they are at their core. The King, however, can be read two ways, and who your king becomes is very much up to him (or her) and how they choose to live their life. If your king remains on a path of self betterment and discovery, then he will be a sharp, clever, honest, loyal, steadfast and true companion who will do well in life and take you along with him wherever he goes. However, he does have a tendency to be more head than heart and to overly think and intellectualise. His emotions are there, but they are buried deep below the surface and not often expressed or on show. If your king fall off his path or continues to walk alongside it or head off into the undergrowth ignoring it entirely, however, it will be a different story. This king will be bitter, frustrated, full of anger that he tries but fails to suppress. He will be cold, hard, emotionally unavailable and aloof. He will hate himself for his failure to meet his own expectations in life and as a result hate everyone else too. And this disappointment and self-directed rage will ultimately get projected and reflected onto you. It will take a strong partner to walk alongside this king, one who is not afraid to mother both his human body and his soul. This is not an easy partner, but he (she) can be a great one if they just do the work.

There is hope, if you can hold out for it. 🌙

Sunday Scripture: to help you to future-proof your week.

This is your reading for the week beginning August 24th, 2020 – but as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at another time then trust that it is meant to be and applicable to your life now.

As we move into the last week of August, the focus is on spring cleaning relationships, taking time out to think, reassess and heal (if we need it), and trusting that the future is bright and the Universe has our back. This might mean saying goodbye to people in our lives who have been with us since childhood, or quitting a job. Don’t panic. It’s all a necessary and very purposeful part of the long-term plan.

This week’s reading comes from the Animal Tarot Cards deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine, published by Hay House with artwork by Dan Craig. Check out their website if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Five of Winter (Swords)
  • Awakening (The Hanged Man)
  • The Ace of Spring (Wands)

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is the Five of Winter, which shows us two dogs fighting over ownership of a piece of rope, both with jaws locked fast around it refusing to let go. This battle of wits, strength and stamina takes place close to the edge of a cliff on a very blustery day. The air is thick with clouds and full of leaves. Yet they see none of this, not the soft green grass beneath their feet, nor the delicate yellow flowers, not the peaceful blue sea to their back, nor the soon to be arriving storm. They have eyes only for each other, and they are eyes of war. Where in your life can you relate to this? Where is there a loss of mature and heart-centred communication? This card is a warning that things in your house aren’t right. It’s time to get yourself out of the way and change course. You are in a situation that can only lead to more. More fighting, broken promises, disappointments, hurt, pain, rejection, negative energy, name-calling, and blaming and violent outbursts. No good can come of it. Not while both parties are fighting over the same thing, from different perspectives, neither willing to let go. Is your pursuit worth all that effort? Could this energy not be better spent? If you back down and apologise, regardless of whether you believe yourself to be wrong or not, will this change things, will the matter be resolved? Could it be this simple? Will changing your behaviour change anything? Or is this a situation one where continuing to interact with this person or environment will only lead to more conflict because your boundaries will be ignored? Think about what you want and what is possible and then act with integrity as you either back down or back away. Take responsibility for what is yours and then leave the rest behind.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is Awakening and it asks us to look at things in a different way. The giraffe spends most of his life with his head high in the air surveying the greater landscape. He can see friends, and predators, coming from miles away and therefore take time to plan. But does this constantly looking ahead and behind, spinning his head all around, really help him in the present moment? Does he not miss out on the smaller, equally as important and vital things, like the fruit ripening on the trees, the leaves opening to perfection, the butterfly exiting the cocoon. And is he really even grounded? This card is asking us to step inside and to sit down in silence and meditate. The situation that is foremost on your mind right now, or situations, can be seen through multiple lenses. What if everything that is happening to you was happening for a reason, a good reason, and what if you are simply misinterpreting the signs, what if your resistance and emotional response is actually blocking it from moving on? Try to look at things differently. And try to look at them in more detail. Like your boss might be giving you hell because he’s in the middle of a divorce or his kid is dropping behind in school. Or your partner might be clashing swords up against you because he is going through something personal that he hasn’t shared. Or maybe it’s just that your journey together is over and you haven’t owned that openly yet? Not all things can be fixed. And not everything can be resolved by taking the higher stance. Go inside. Find the silence. Feel your way around the situation from all angles. Then, when you are more sure of your direction, try navigating again. And trust your inner instincts, even if what they say you don’t much like.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is the Ace of Spring. This is where we can take a deep sigh and sink into a comfortable knowing that this, everything that right now feels so unfixable and unmanageable, is all going to be alright. The Universe has our back. We are not alone. Powers greater than us are watching over us and pulling the strings. We just need to relax, surrender and retract our claws. All good things come to those who wait. And you have waited patiently. This time of conflict and turmoil and loggerheads is almost done. Hang on in there this is the last leg. Wait until you see the signs and then leap into action following them. The castle on the hill that imprisoned you is about to be left behind. That side of you, that trauma from your childhood that then followed you and steered you into other disappointing and damaging relationships, is being released and healed. Your heart has been broken so that it can be made new again, bigger and stronger and brighter and so much more capable of giving and accepting (untainted and unconditional) love. Your time will come. It will. And until then, think of yourself as the little tiger being held and watched over in a constant and silent vigil.

Why does this keep happening to me? 🐞

Ever wondered why – when you are just going about your quiet, polite business – you suddenly get attacked? Or asked: what is it about me that just attracts this kind of behaviour? Ever had your day totally turned upside down by another person’s outburst when all you were doing was minding your own business and trying to be inconspicuous and nice? I think most of us have.

But why does this happen? And why, specifically, is it happening now?

This reading is intended to dial in to the energy of the perpetrator, the he or she who is or has attacked you, in order to better understand it and from there proceed with a bit more compassion for the source. After all, if we better understand our own energy and see him or her not as an antagonist but as a teacher and a guide, life becomes more pleasant and manageable. The medicine, the lesson they are here to help us to learn, is sweeter.

So… why are you attracting this behaviour and why does it keep happening?

The King of Swords is a sad and lonely individual. See how he sits in isolation on the top of an uninhabited hill, perched on the edge of a cliff with no one for company. See how his clothes are heavy and oversized, like they were intended for someone else. His sword too. And his throne is narrow and hard. It is not a comfortable or a family-oriented place. He has great ambition and lofty goals – he seeks to rule and own a kingdom – but just keeping his throne and not getting usurped takes up all of his daily energy. And somehow he doesn’t trust the world or anyone in it anymore, so he can’t let anyone come close in case their softness and goodness rubs off on him and makes him weak. When he attacks you, therefore, it’s not personal. It’s not what you did or said. It’s your energy and light, coupled with his unconscious awareness of your desire to step in and be of service were you to get to know him in any way. He senses your empathy and compassion for all people, your desire to help those who are in need, and this threatens his code and agreement with the world, because if he were to also see all people as good and worthy, then he couldn’t be king, because being king requires that you trample those who are beneath you and consider them underfoot, and you cannot hope to acquire wealth and great fortune unless you are aloof, disassociated and strong. A king lives, after all, off the taxes of the people.

The Seven of Pentacles reveals who the King of Swords used to be, before he lost himself to ambition. This man is the boy next door, a man who has come from humble beginnings and who has big dreams, a man who believes in the universe and in a kind world. But while the king dreams of owning a kingdom and ruling over those whom he considers weak, while he considers his own importance paramount regardless of the cost: the Seven seeks only to own a humble plot and to manage his crop. He too seeks to own and rule over a kingdom, but it is a private one and it has a cap. He would like a few fields, a few vines, enough wealth to manage his land and employ help where necessary, the means to clothe and feed his family and meet their needs. He is the same man as the king, but he is open and trusting and grounded and he does not fear that what is his will be taken if he isn’t always on the offensive and up for a fight.

So now we understand the personality of the energy that is attacking or draining us, and have more compassion for it and understanding of its nature, the Ladybird is here to offer us some wisdom and advice.

  • Accept happiness and good fortune where you find them.
  • Look for the gifts that are scattered subtly and sweetly about your life.
  • Focus on the good things and use them to balance out the things that you don’t like.
  • Practice gratitude daily.
  • And when you have dark forces, chords and entanglements that need to be cleared, turn to the ladybird for help. They are specialised in flapping their wings and flying you back home.
