State your claim – Message for Christmas

Today’s card is the Page of Wands, a fitting card for the end of the year for this card represents a fresh start and the growth of something new coming in that you plant from the ground up. A new project, a new relationship, a new country, a new job, etc. Whatever it is… the way is open for you to take hold of it and receive it.

Let’s examine the Page:

  • See how his boots are planted firmly in the ground, capped with snow instead of top soil.
  • See how straight and tall he stands, poised and confident.
  • See how curious and focused is his gaze, as if he is captivated by the staff’s shoots.
  • See the wand, a staff, sprouting shoots. All around the landscape is bleak and frozen, the plants buried and asleep, and yet something is growing, a blessing from above. Even in the midst of winter it is a symbol of hope, something awake and electric with the potential of the universe within it.
  • He wears a red cape. The root chakra. This is where he has to pull his energy from. Energy that will be necessary in order to take this project forwards to the next stage of development; for it will need care, attention, time and love to grow big and strong.
  • Note his yellow tunic. See the veins and swirls patterned upon it. This is his solar plexus, the nexus of his emotional intuition, his gut wisdom. It has guided him thus far and it is alive and raring to go, putting all of its thoughts and ideas into action.

The message of this card is to hold on, to believe in your ability to create, to trust that, going forwards, things can and will get better – so long as you remember that you have the innate ability to create and to nurture your dreams and to make them grow. You can leave this winter landscape of slumber and hardship behind, all you have to do is believe and then put your energy and attention behind it.

I wish you a peaceful, joyful Christmas full of family, friendship, good company, puppy (or other fur baby) snuggles and warmth, comfort, hope and love.

Get thee behind me or get thee gone.

The focus here is ‘coping in the moment‘, drawing on the skills and wisdom of the inner parent that is present in each and every one of us: for who better to assist us than that wiser, more worldly part; the part who has been here before, multiple times; the part that was also inherited, who has lived in our mother and father, our grandparents, and all of their mothers and fathers who came and lived and breathed before?

When life is hard. When situations are restrictive and limiting. When the outlook appears somewhat bleak. When there is no certainty or clear forward path. When we lack power and control, personal autonomy. And we can all relate at different times in our life to these. We need a broader perspective, a higher vantage point, a less biased view. We need someone who can step outside of the picture, or who can come in from outside and sit with us in our discomfort within it. We need someone who has been there before, who has experienced these things, or similar, in their own lifetimes. We need us, from the past and from the future and from parallel lives. And we need the US who existed inside our ancestors as cells. For this Us is stronger and wiser and much more grounded and able to guide us, like a therapist or a mentor, only with more precision and skill.

The Seven of Fire, also the Seven of Wands, delivers an answer with a power kick; more like a truth bomb, a dose of tough love, a Joan of Arc no more hiding behind proverbial skirts.

The woman in the card suffers no fools and takes no prisoners. She says “get with me, or get thee gone”. Her message, as stated, “Stand up for yourself and your beliefs! Have confidence. Challenge those in power but also choose your battles wisely.” is perhaps exactly what we need to hear. She knows the answers to her own problems. She understands the source of her pain. She sees what is blocking her and she steps into her own authority, firmly taking responsibility for her path. No more waiting for a saviour, no more wasting time with the wrong person and people, no more suffering fools… The world has changed. The world is still changing. And we have changed too. What fitted doesn’t necessarily fit comfortably now. We have seen where we were dragging dead weight. We know our allies and we see our enemies for what they really are. Just because someone is our …….. (fill in the blanks) it doesn’t mean we are supposed to be with them, to suffer under them, with them, for them. We are sovereign and free. The outside is trying to tell us otherwise. It is a projection of the inside. In realising that we are our own saviour, we are our own hero, parent, guide, counsel and friend, we realise we are infinite and eternal and capable of magnificent things.

Do not limit yourself to your reality. Open your eyes and enter into your imagination. Test that space. Build a world inside it. Breathe life into it so that it comes to be. Know, above everything, that you are powerful, mighty, capable and brave. You didn’t get this far, suffer this much, only to quit.

Often, you are the answer you seek. The path you look around for lies right at your feet.

Just breathe, if you can, however you can, and start there. Anything else is icing on top. 🧁

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture – a weekly three-card card reading designed to help you future-proof your week, providing guidance and channelled insights to empower you to make better choices and decisions.

🦓

This reading is for the week ahead, beginning October 13th, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides the way. There is a bigger energy present in all of our lives: patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes bullying kind of way)… waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look, the more you learn to see. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear. Follow me on this journey and TOGETHER we will navigate the winding path that is the fool’s journey.

🦓

As we move into the third week of October it’s time to pause and slow down, stopping even, if you have to. This is not a week for action, just know that now. Instead, surrender. It is a week of resting and taking stock and just being happy with being you. Once you’ve recouped a little bit and recovered your energies, you can begin to move and plan and look to the future again. For now, just enjoy where you are and try to make the best of it if you can.

This week’s reading comes from the Animal Tarot Cards deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine, published by Hay House with artwork by Dan Craig. Check out their website if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Five of Autumn – Manatee
  • The Three of Spring – Sea Turtle
  • Balance – Zebra

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is the Five of Autumn, represented here by the Manatee. Manatees are gentle and slow creatures, as we can see by the picture. They are also very trusting. This little guy looks like he is on pause, looking out of the card to the world beyond for answers, almost like a child or a pet wondering how they can be helped or be of help. This card is reminding you that you don’t have to go it alone. It’s ok to ask for support and guidance when you need it. It’s also ok to not know what to do, not know what is going on, not know what you need by way of solutions and answers. Know that you can always ask God to help you and also turn to higher energies, like angels, archangels and guides. They are there, always, just waiting to hear from you.

Overriding message: you are not alone and it’s ok to need help.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is the Three of Spring. This card represents hope for the future, it speaks of a return to life, as well as growth, movement and new things coming into being. Be patient. Take your time. Don’t leap to any decisions or conclusions. It’s ok to start looking ahead, but don’t move forwards into the future too far. Instead, look to what you already know and work out how to move that into the next phase of being and doing. Ask yourself if you want to keep travelling in the same direction, mixing with the same people, or if you want to try something entirely different instead.

Overriding message: Plan. Plot. Prepare. But don’t put into action just yet.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is Balance. The message here is to consider all possibilities and mentally test them out. Dip a foot into a new option and see how it feels, but don’t dive in until you’ve explored multiple possibilities and gauged which one is right. Be like Goldilocks: don’t just settle for the first chair, bed, bowl you see… try them all out, if not physically then mentally, to see which one feels, smells, tastes, looks just right. The future is bright and full of possibilities: don’t rush; make sure you make the right and best decision for you. And, again: collaborate. This card is yet another card calling upon reaching out and connecting with others as the solution to where you are. Being a solopreneur in any and all walks of you life might have served you well up until now, might serve you well most of the time, but could you be having a more enjoyable journey, could you be reaping more rewards, could you be gliding over your roadblocks instead of having to stop and dismount and scramble over them if there was more than just you? You may have been taught that it’s better to stand alone, that you can only really trust and rely upon yourself, and maybe in many cases that is true. But it’s also true that there are some really wonderful people out there who would love to work with you. Think about this and then consider reaching out. There are better solutions than the ones you are playing with right now.

Overriding message: consider working with others and building a support team. There is strength in numbers. Asking for help does not make you weak.

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture – a weekly three-card card reading designed to help you future-proof your week, providing guidance and channelled insights to empower you to make better choices and decisions.

👑

This reading is for the week ahead, beginning October 5th, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME: trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides the way. There is a bigger energy present in all of our lives: patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes brutal way)… waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look: the more you learn to see. The more you listen: the more you start to be able to hear. Follow me on this journey and TOGETHER we will navigate the winding path that is the fool’s journey.

👑

As we move into the second week of October prepare for war: you might be called upon to defend your word. Anticipate the presence of haters and you will be better prepared. This, in turn, will ensure a better outcome further into the week when the Wheel of Fortune offers you an opportunity. Pick a side. Or don’t. But stand by your decision and let that alone be your guide.

This week’s reading comes from the Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot deck, published by U.S. Games Systems, INC., with artwork based on drawings by Pamela Coleman Smith. Check out their website if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Seven of Wands
  • The Wheel of Fortune
  • The Queen of Pentacles

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is the Seven of Wands, depicting a man atop of a cliff backed right up against the edge. Feet straddling a stream, body and mind pitted against many other opposing individuals and their needs, desires and intentions: the card suggests a clashing of opinions and pressure to pick or change sides by those who are threatened by the stance you are choosing to take. Is your line of thinking around a certain subject slightly controversial or forward-thinking? Or are you daring to be different? This card suggests the answer is YES!!! Which is perfectly fine, and even admirable. But take time to really assess what you are choosing to believe in and make sure you are on the right side. Have your opinion, but know that having it might come with a cost and a fight. Don’t let yourself be swayed though. Just because the bullies speak the loudest and fight with the strongest fists, doesn’t mean they are to be trusted or believed. Often the quietest whisper is the voice that is the most true.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is the Wheel of Fortune and how this card plays out for you this week will depend greatly on how you responded on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to the things that stepped into your path. Make sure you are supporting the right side, make sure that that side is also your side, the side your intuition would pick, the side your higher self would choose, the side those who have passed and whom you love and respect would also select, and fortune will turn in your favour. Pick the wrong one… and who knows what course your life might take. If you’ve spent too much of your life being dictated to by others, and perhaps been derailed as a result, this is your chance to set that right and return to your true life path.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is the Queen of Pentacles. This Queen has accumulated much wealth in her life and has a life which looks shiny and desirable to many from the outside. But what is the cost and how great is the sacrifice? What has she had to forgoe or give up? And was it worth it? If what you are sacrificing in order to have the life you have: is this sacrifice taking too much away; is it also taking too much of a toll; are you tired, weary, sick? Reassess what you are doing and why and either get right with it or get out. Life is about what’s behind the camera not in front and in order to have the life you want you need to be the director of it all.

One toe at a time. 🚿

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture – a weekly three-card card reading designed to help you future-proof your week, providing guidance and insights to empower you to make better choices and decisions.

This reading is for the week ahead, beginning September 28th, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME: trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides the way. There is a bigger energy present in all of our lives: patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes brutal way), waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look, the more you learn to see. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear. Follow me on this journey and together we will navigate the winding path that is the fool’s journey.

As we move into the final week of September and the first week of October, the focus is on our emotions and how we nurture and manage them. We are also guided to express gratitude for all that we have, unearthing and uncovering treasures perhaps hidden to ourselves. This, we are told, will set us on the right track to feel fully confident and strong, should any uninvited tussles arrive. But pay attention… after a calm week, perhaps an emotionally challenging weekend.

  • Temperance
  • The Nine of Cups
  • The Five of Wands
  • The Wheel of Fortune

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is Temperance and the first thing that comes to mind here are the words: temper your emotions. When I think of temperance, I think of temper and how we often let it get the better of us and lose control. How we let it overtake us and consume us. The message here is: you don’t want to cast a cloud over the start of the week by letting your emotions fly; you also don’t want someone else’s temper to rain all over you. In addition, this card is also advising you to spend time balancing and tempering your energy, releasing any trapped emotions, maybe some that you have been carrying for an overly long time, and assessing and strengthening your boundaries. Take this slowly, dipping one toe at a time into the water. Trust that the more you commit to this inner work and personal and ancestral healing, the more magnificent your life will be and the less people will try to psychically attack you. Be that which you wish to attract and in time your life will reflect this back.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is the Nine of Cups. Here we are being prompted to take a long hard look at our life and give gratitude and thanks for all that we have. And even if we might wish for a bigger house, better car, more money to buy more of the things we need; or freedom to travel the world as we please, visiting people, places and planetary treasures; or a better job, better health, better relationships, etc., we still have plenty we can feel thankful for. Make a list of what you feel blessed to have, to have experienced, to do, know, believe, etc. And work to add to it every day. Gratitude is like a garden: tend to it and flowers bloom, but neglect it and weeds grow.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is the Five of Wands, which suggests a turbulent weekend. But this is also what the week has been preparing us for and we are ready for the challenge being presented. Anticipate conflict. Expect a jarring or clashing of opinion. Entertain the notion that voices will rise, tempers flare and emotions heighten. Do your best to stand your ground, speak your truth and stand up for what you believe in. Work hard to assert and protect your boundaries and you will suffer less at the hands fools. If you can hold your head up high, plant your feet squarely and send your roots deep into the earth, all the while picturing yourself as a tree, solid and unflappable, you will be well prepared. See this card is a test to your progress so far, how you respond to it a guide to where you still need to go when it comes to healing, growth and development.

And our bonus card, also for the weekend, is the Wheel of Fortune. This card suggest the power is ours and how we choose to respond to our week the maker of our fortune. If we have done the personal work and prepared, if we have chosen our battles wisely, then fortune is set to deal in our favour. But if we have squandered our week and played hookey from our responsibilities, if we have allowed ourselves to react, disconnect and get triggered, then the outcome might not be so kind. The Wheel of Fortune is a harbinger of change and allowing this can be difficult. But, whatever way the wheel spins and whatever direction your fortune unravels in, know that it is not permanent; for just as this came to pass, so too will other things. Nothing is constant, this is the only thing we can ever truly know.

Navigate these waters and there will be calmer times ahead. 🛶

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture – a weekly three-card card reading designed to help you future-proof your week, providing guidance and insights to empower you to make better choices and decisions.

This reading is for the week ahead, beginning September 21st, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME: trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides the way. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear. Follow me on this journey and, together, we will navigate the winding path that is the tarot.

As we move into the fourth week of September, the focus is on how we see ourselves and how that person dictates the decisions we make and what we do with our life. For how we respond to him or her affects everything, especially when it comes to creating wealth. Prepare for a journey of some kind and work out what painful truths you want to carry with you. Perhaps it is time to let them go.

  • The World
  • The King of Pentacles
  • The Six of Swords

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The World. I see this card as a mirror and an invitation to stand before it and really look at who we are without the packaging we carefully wrap around us. When we strip off everything – fake, superficial, applied – and gaze upon ourselves without clothing, washing or makeup; without costume: what do we see, who are we, are we comfortable with that person or is he or she carrying a lot of unnecessary worry, guilt, regret, fear and pain? Can we then look into that same mirror and call upon our best self, our higher self, or our quantum or future self, and commune with him or her? What would they say given the chance? Imagine the advice would they give; what you can learn from them and then apply? This card is a gentle wake-up call, an invitation to really show up with all of our truths laid bare. Take ownership of your shadow. Embrace both your darkness as well as your light.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The King of Pentacles. Now it’s time to get to work, looking out over the kingdom of your life and evaluating its worth. Where are you wealthy? What are your riches? And how could you grow and nurture more? Get creative, active and busy, grounding all of the introspection you did in the earlier part of the week. Apply the lessons you learned and till them into the soil.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Six of Swords, which has a sad and nostalgic energy. Thanks to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, though, we are prepared for this because it’s not necessarily a ‘this’ that we want to inhabit, accommodate, admit-to or endure. But endure we must, for, as with everything in life, we cannot take only the good and dismiss the bad. A journey is approaching – or perhaps you are already on it – and likely it is not, or will not, be one of your choosing or making. Perhaps it’s something you just have to commit to because… This journey will likely contain painful truths or necessitate the packing-up and transporting of the uncomfortable truths we already have and have carried with us thus far in order to relocate them. But you have a choice and this is important. What you choose to carry with you; who you choose to travel with, and how you see that journey are things you can affect. If the news is difficult; if the narrative isn’t one you’d welcome or invite: you can still repaint it. Not every disaster is a death sentence. Not every hiccup, setback or slight is as much of a misfortune as we might think. Reframe the journey that has been imposed upon you or embolden yourself to choose your own course, even if it ruffles a few feathers and rocks a fair few boats. Navigate these waters and there will be calmer times ahead.

Take a load off. You deserve a rest. 🪁

Welcome back to Sunday Scripture, a weekly three-card reading to help you to future-proof your week.

Hello lovelies, this is your reading for the week ahead, beginning September 14th, 2020. BUT, as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at ANOTHER TIME, trust that it is MEANT TO BE and applicable to your life now. This has always been true for me and I’m sure it will be for you too if you can just sit back and surrender to the he/she/it that guides you. There is a bigger energy present in all our lives – patient, ready, loving (albeit in a sometimes brutal way) – waiting for us to open up and let it in. The more you look, the more you learn to see. The more you listen, the more you start to be able to hear.

As we move into the third week of September, the focus is on looking at and reassessing our boundaries around what and how much we take on, paying close attention to what we are carrying and what new tasks and chores we agree to add. Instead of all work and nothing else, incorporate play into your life and spend the latter half of the week enjoying and even sharing that activity worth others. That way, when it comes to the weekend, you will be revved up and recharged, ready to take on the world again as you see fit.

This reading’s cards come from the Dreaming Way Tarot; deck by Rome Choi, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. with artwork by Kwon Shina. Check out their website – if you can find it (I can’t) – if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Ten of Wands
  • The Queen of Cups
  • The Page of Wands

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The Ten of Wands. In it we see a man – worn thin, exhausted, bent double – picking up sticks. Yet as he stoops to pick the next one up, note how he’s also dropping several more from the pile he’s collected previously, sabotaging what he already has in attempting to manage and juggle more. This card is is telling you to stop being everyone and eveyrthing’s “yes” (wo) man and instead start becoming your own personal advocate, for if you don’t look after yourself, pretty soon you won’t be much use to anyone else either and nobody wins. Try putting down a few wands. Experiment with how it feels to have a “later” list and even to say “no”. Saying “no” can be super scary and even rock a few boats, but it gets easier and people do adapt. And soon you’ll be feeling so much better anyway, what other people say and think won’t matter so much. Start by listing the things you are carrying and sorting them in order of importance. You aren’t super human. You can’t be all things to all people. So work out who and what you want to serve and put that and them first. Later – if you have space, energy and time – you can add to this with things further down your list.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Queen of Cups, a super lovely and really positive card. Here, we see a woman and her child sharing a wooden throne, looking out across the landscape together. This card makes me think of a mother and daughter curled up on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn watching their favourite movie. It feels special because usually the mother, who is after all a queen, is working and the child is left alone to entertain herself with her own devices and here they are united in a treat, both indulging in time off. Take YOUR weekend early this week and put your feet up. You DESERVE a rest. Better yet, check in with your inner child and ask them what they would really like to do. Maybe they want to bake something or draw a picture? Maybe they want to go out foraging? Maybe they want to visit something of cultural interest or go somewhere entirely new? Whatever your inner child wants – and your real children too if you are a fur or skin child mother – indulge them for a few days in order to recoup, fortify, refurnish and restore. You will thank yourself for this later.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Page of Wands, which basically means time to go back to work. After having treated your week like a weekend: the message now is treat your weekend like your week, taking advantage of all of the power and energy that slowing down and resting and playing has cooked up. There is encouragement here too, because in order to leap into this new space of creating you will need to get wet. That means take off your socks and shoes and risk damaging your pedicure because the real treasure is in that dark inner place where the things you resist hide. The universe is calling upon you to birth a new project, or to release the one you have been nurturing and cultivating for some time. But in order to do so you need to also get up close and personal to some of the things you have been carrying around in order to release them. To have a healthy birth, for that baby to be healthy, there first needs to be a purging – much like in an actual birth where the body rids itself of all that it has been carrying in advance of delivering the infant. First purge, then labour and deliver. Do it this way and you will be more likely to achieve the success of which you dream.

Is it in my highest good to walk away from this relationship ‘right now’, or am I supposed to stay where I am for the time being? 🧵

Relationship reading for romantic, familial and platonic relationships to see if the person in question is worth all of the effort and/or even supposed to still be in your life.

Relationships can be tricky things, especially if we really care for the person we are with, and even more so if we have been together for a long time. But regardless of the duration of your relationship: knowing whether you are in the right place and just journeying through something on a cosmic level that needs to be aired and shared and is supposed to be happening to and for the both of you in order for a trauma (yours or ancestral) to be healed, or whether you are stuck stubbornly treading water because the path you were on together has reached its end and you just aren’t ready to see and accept that as the case yet, is pretty important and vital. Getting it wrong can lead to unnecessary pain and cost time in years. We come together for a reason, always, no matter who we are with and who we meet. Even the disasters are supposed to be. What isn’t supposed to be, however, is a prolonged bad anything. It is not ok to be in a relationship where there is a lack of respect. It is not ok for there to be a dismissal of personal boundaries. It is not ok for there to be shouting and anger and unkind words if those actions aren’t swiftly followed by a retraction, surrender and apology. There are good relationships and there are bad relationships and there are extenuating circumstances. But even here there are lines and there is a limit to what we should be ok with.

Are you putting up with more than you should be and accepting less than you deserve?

Are you in a stalemate and waiting for someone who doesn’t want to, or has been left behind, to catch up and change?

Are you accepting second, or even third or fourth, best behaviour when you need and in your heart you know you should be experiencing so much more?

This reading is intended to be a guide to help you to sort through the questions that you are juggling so that you can come away feeling more decided and clear. It is not a black and white answer. It is not a “yes” or “no”. It is a conversation you can have with yourself while or after you are listening to me to hold up the mirror of truth to what is. What you do next is up to you.

This reading’s cards come from the Dreaming Way Tarot; deck by Rome Choi, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. with artwork by Kwon Shina. Check out their website if you can find it (I can’t) if you like what you see and see or go to Amazon to get your own deck.

The cards drawn are:

  • The Wheel of Fortune
  • The Six of Pentacles
  • The Seven of Swords
  • The Nine of Pentacles

Watch the video below to find out what it’s message is. Then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Below is a brief summary of the cards pulled in case you don’t have time to watch the video. But you will get much more from it if you do.

The Wheel of Fortune sits in the position of the past and shows a women spinning at a wheel with a spindle, trying but failing to spin a perfect spool of yarn. She’s on her knees, up close and personal to her equipment, putting her heart and soul into it. And her intentions are pure. Yet we can see she’s failing miserably, unable to produce a satisfactory, or even a useable, result. Instead, what she is producing appears to be a tangled mess. This card indicates that in the past you have tried, over and over, to create and to live within a healthy right relationship with both yourself and your partner(s) but there have been blocks that have always stood in your way and no matter how often you showed up or how hard you tried, something was always there thwarting your efforts and tearing your achievements and progress down. Perhaps this was just your fate and there is/was nothing you can or could have done about it? Perhaps it’s because it takes two to create a beautiful relationship and you have/are mostly sat working the wheel alone? Or perhaps it’s simply because you are forever choosing the wrong thread? Sit with this and reassess the situation and let that guide you how to best continue.

The Six of Pentacles sits in the position of the present and shows us a woman begging at the feet of a man. She is wearing white, as well as wearing a turban, which shows us she is on a spiritual path and that her intentions, at least here, are pure. Next to her there is a beggar, humbled and desperate, happy to accept any scraps that are given regardless of their quantity or quality. But the man they are prostrating themselves to, who looks at least materially wealthy, as in rich in objects and earthly things, is on a different path and has distractions which do not concern them. They are there as dependants, things that need taking care of once in a while, things that can be subdued and placated with a little every so often, like a pet, but not there as a focus of energy or attention in his life. Neither the woman nor the beggar are a priority, or even of much concern or importance at all. Which leaves the woman having to pay for the attention and time she gets in acts of service and kindness and the beggar involuntarily wearing a crown of humility and gratitude for something that is essentially useless. One has become a prostitute in an attempt to get their needs met, the other an acolyte. And all the while the former is still hoping to receive time and tenderness and the latter something useful like a job. This card is calling into question the matter of balance in your life and how even and fair things are. If there is inequality in your relationship; if one person is giving too much and the other showing up only to take: things need talking about and changing immediately if there is to be a harmonious future ahead.

The Seven of Swords – which pairs with this card in the present – highlights more energetic imbalances. Here we see a man running away from us, legging it home in order to stash his horde of swords. He is a thief, running off with what isn’t his because instead of earning it fairly or being given it freely as something that wanted to be given, he has snuck in and taken it regardless, to have and to keep all for himself. There is no unity here, no comradeship, no ‘you’ and ‘me’. It is all ‘mine’, ‘mine’, ‘mine’; absolutely no sharing. This man is scared that he will not have enough or not be prepared for whatever it is he believes is coming and for that reason he is not working together with you; he is just building his own home according to his design. This could be a mental home or a career home, but it’s not a love one. For a love reading: note how there are no love or romance cards. We are lacking the suit of Cups. And we are lacking the energy of union and comradeship too. It’s each to their own and one man against the world, so where does that leave you? Maybe you are included in this ‘my house’, ‘my world’ mentality. And if so: is it where you really want to be? Is it the energy you want to fill a home with? And if not: where does that leave you and what is happening to your house?

The Nine of Pentacles sits in the space of the future and shows us a woman celebrating financial success after having planted a crop of seeds which have grown to yield a healthy crop. This card is telling us that we have to separate our energies and focus more on ourselves. Which means we also have to stop pouring all of our time and energy into others. The overriding message here is, “first fix yourself”, applying your own oxygen mask before turning to the problems and dramas of those around you, for they will always be there and you can never keep up because the world is forever turning. If you can do this while in your current relationship and choose to do so: then by all means try. The universe is behind you here because it’s in the cards for you to succeed in what you turn your hand to. But if you find that you are too distracted or your time is not your own, or you are not emotionally able to focus on or begin anything from the space you are in now: then the message is to cut the thread, disentangle your energy and your life and begin again alone. You are strong and whatever you apply yourself to, so long as you are not distracted by things that are outside of and, ultimately, beyond your grasp, will grow. Decide how you want to grow and what you want to be growing and then figure out the type of soil you need to be tilling and nurturing.

Sunday Scripture: to help you to future-proof your week.

This is your reading for the week beginning September 7th, 2020 – but as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at another time then trust that it is meant to be and applicable to your life now.

As we move into the second week of September, the focus is on weathering emotional injury (injury that is incurred as a result of the actions and words of others), turning our attention to new projects and rising above and riding the storm. In the first half of the week, we find ourselves challenged on multiple levels by those around us and their words and actions hurt. The second half of the week lends some catharsis to this in the form of purpose and work, providing us an outlet and a channel for our hurt. And the weekend opens up a space for introspection and self-evaluation, a time to be thankful for how far we have come but also to acknowledge the price we have had to pay and the storms we have and still are having to weather.

  • The Three of Swords
  • The Three of Pentacles
  • The King of Cups

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The Three of Swords. This card is often a difficult card, especially while we are travelling through it, but it is also a valuable resource and an opportunity to go inside. Find stillness and really take time to learn from your experiences. What are the messages that you are receiving from these altercations and slights? Get out your journal and make notes, you will look back and thank yourself for the gems you left. The Three of Swords tells us that the start of the week could contain some emotional conflict. This might be an argument with a friend, a disagreement at work, a lover betraying you, or a stranger flinging insults for no apparent reason. Or it might mean loss; loss of someone you really care about. All of these things hurt and the wounds they inflict last. Be gentle with yourself and find time to tend to this. BUT… this is also an ideal time to let the tears flow and really open up and empty out what is trapped inside your heart. What other long-held grievances are you keeping in there? What trials and traumas rest hidden so that only you can see them? Embrace the gift of the suffering this week and use it as a vehicle to release a life’s worth of carrying. Cry and be proud of yourself for the gift of this purging.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Three of Pentacles, a much lighter and brighter card than it’s sister above. This card is all about starting new projects, being creative and building things, and working with others to combine skills. And it’s about working on something of worth and birthing a project that is sacred, whether it’s sacred with a big ‘S’ and applicable to the world as a vehicle for transformation and healing, or sacred with a small ‘s’ and meaningful just to you. Perhaps, too, you could use this energy to transform your pain into purpose, betrayal into beauty, trauma into triumph, rejection into radiance, taking the hurts from the start of the week and releasing them here.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The King of Cups. This is a good end to the week as cups are all about love and relationships and kings represent mastery, so the King of Cups reveals our having achieved (or being in the process of achieving) mastery of these things. The king tells us we have a good grasp of our emotions having done a lot of deep inner work over the years, facing up to our demons and successfully releasing as many of them as was possible; maybe even more of them than we think we have. And for those we still carry, we are able to be honest about them now and are in the process of purposefully attempting to put them out. BUT… as we all know, some things – people, places, events – are harder to part ways with than others. However, doing personal work results in growth and growth results in becoming different from what we were before and therefore to those around us. So if you are feeling alone and without a tribe, because your tribe no longer feels like a safe, friendly space or a comfy home to reside within, have no fear. Your new tribe is coming, you are just in a liminal, central holding space where there is still old stuff that needs to be released before your true SOUL TRIBE can come in.

Sunday Scripture: to help you to future-proof your week.

This is your reading for the week beginning September 1st, 2020 – but as with all readings, if you have been guided towards this page at another time then trust that it is meant to be and applicable to your life now.

As we move into the first week of September, the focus is on the changing season and what it brings to light within. We find ourselves being called upon to sit in silence and stare deep into the mirror of our minds, mining our hearts and souls for all that they wish, want and desire. And we are called upon to compare what we want to what we have, and to pull out the weeds that are taking up too much space. Only then can we pick a path, a true path, and get walking towards our bright, shiny new future. A week of optimism and purpose awaits.

  • The World
  • The Tower
  • The Chariot

Watch the video below to get the full reading, then send me a message and share what it awoke or sparked in you.

Our card for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is The World. She calls upon us to imagine a better future, one filled with bright, shiny things. What would your life be like if you could have everything you desired? Where would you live, for example, and who would you live with? What would you be doing with your time and during your days? What would you look like? Sit yourself down in front of a mirror and start to imagine that life all around you and fill in all of the mirror’s face with its details. September is calling upon you to get real about what you want and to make getting it a priority. Stop putting it off and putting others first. Now is the time and the season for you to be you.

Our card for Thursday and Friday is The Tower. In the Rider-Waite deck, this card is never a welcome sign, for she comes with flames and people abandoning a crumbling building in flames, which looks, at the same time, very much like a prison. This card always reminds me of the fairytale about Rapundzel, the kidnapped damsel in the tower, who is daily called upon by a handsome prince to let down her long luscious locks so that he might climb up to see her. In this sense, living in the tower space is akin to being entombed by a wicked witch with people from outside always seeking to come in to steal things you cannot afford to give. In today’s reading The Tower card is calling upon you to spring clean your life, taking a long hard look at all of the components in it and turning out those that are no longer good. For just as The World is asking that you imagine all that you want, The Tower is asking that you balance that energy by owning up to and releasing all that you don’t. For without sacrifice and letting ago, there is no room for new things to enter.

Our card for Saturday and Sunday is The Chariot. She is calling upon you to pick a side, make a decision and walk the path of your true choice. Stop living your life for other people. Stop allowing the push and pull of various other forces to dictate your choices and decisions and choose your direction, your own most favoured one. Get back on path and move towards what you know in your heart to be right. Free from the baggage represented by The Tower, you are more able to make pace, catching up for lost time. Don’t worry if you have spent years in a bad situation or relationship. Right now is the right time for things to be happening, and all that came before was simply necessary learning in order for you to get here and get to where you are supposed to go. Our difficulty informs us and our pain breaks us open to let the light flow in. You are now fully awake and ready to begin the real journey.
